**Please pay careful attention to any physical check that you receive. EFS will only honor authentic original EFS checks. EFS will not honor forged or photocopied checks. An EFS check has several security features to help you verify its authenticity. Verify that you can see flecks in the check itself - a copy of a check will not have these. Also, examine the box at the top of the check. The color of the pink oval in the box should change when exposed to heat. An authentic EFS check will also have micro-printing and erasure protection. If your customer presents a check without these features, do not accept the check. Although EFS will upon request verify a check number against a dollar amount, we cannot verify the authenticity of a physical check over the phone or via the internet.
